Hey!  It’s your girl Esha here.  I’m excited to share Part 4 of my What I Know About You Series!  This is the final video of a 4 part series and it gives you my easiest tip about how to stop overthinking.

Check it out below!

Overthinking much?

Ladies, let’s talk about the whirlwind that is our minds, forever jumping between the past and the future! We’re the queens of multitasking, managing households, careers, and relationships with style and grace. But in the midst of caring for everyone else, we sometimes forget the most important person – ourselves.

It’s high time we learn the art of being present and treating ourselves with the kindness we so freely give to others. Brain always going, exhausting.  Wish could turn off brain, detach from head

So, this has happened to me too, more times that I care to admit. You’re lying in bed, replaying past conversations or worrying about tomorrow’s to-do list, and suddenly you realize – you’re not really living in the present moment (the present rest that you’re trying to get).  Rasie your hand if this is you!

It’s a common struggle for many of us, especially as Black women who often carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. Overthinking can be a thief of joy, robbing us of the beauty of the here and now.  But, how do you stop overthinking?

What can your breath do?

Here’s the key to regaining our presence: the breath! Yup, something as simple as breathing can be a powerful act of self-love. Take a moment each day to close your eyes, inhale deeply, and exhale slowly. Feel the air fill your lungs, and as you breathe out, release the tension, the worries, and the past. As you exhale, let your shoulders drop, unclench your jaw, let your tummy expand.  Inhale love, exhale stress. This practice is like a warm, loving hug from yourself to yourself.

Why should you get into your body more?

Ever heard the phrase, “Get out of your head and into your body”? Well, it’s a gem of wisdom. Engaging in physical activities that make you feel good is self love!  And your breath, the conscious act of breathing, is the easiest and most accessible way to be present in the joy of the moment.

When you breathe and feel what’s going on in your body, you’re basically taking a mini vacay – everyday!

In a world where we often put the needs of others before our own, remember that self-love is not selfish; it’s necessary. By taming our overactive minds (turning off that chatter), breathing in the love we deserve, and getting into our bodies, we can reclaim the present and savor every moment.

So, my beautiful sisters, let’s make a pact to be kinder to ourselves, to cherish the present, and to let self-love be the guiding star on our journey of life. After all, you deserve it!
