Looking for spring outfit ideas? You’re in the right place. As we’re zooming into spring in the Northern Hemisphere, I’m sharing 3 outfits that are ideal for many spring occasions: brunch (indulgent brunch – yes please!), graduations and the list of obligatory events you’ll be invited to. I’m also sharing 3 tips to get the most out of your clothes and closet right now. Enjoy the watch!
Here’s what I mentioned in de video:
Tip 1: Highlight what you love about your body and downplay de rest.
- When you’re showing off what you love about your body, you feel more confident. I like to think of it as an instant mood booster!
- Featured outfit: a colourful dress I bought in Toronto many years ago. I don’t recall the store, however whenever I wear this dress, it shows off my arms and shoulders, which I happen to love. This spring outfit idea can take many forms depending on what you like to show off!
Tip 2: Make sure your clothes fit you properly.
- You should invest in a tailor or perhaps start to make your own clothes, like I did! What’s the use of these spring outfit ideas if you’re constantly adjusting you clothes because you’re uncomfortable?
- Featured outfit: 2 piece coord set with a loose fitting top (open wrap in the back with cold shoulder sleeves) and loose fitting shorts. Made by me using the Sade blouse pattern (contained in the Named Breaking the Pattern book) and the Tilly and the Buttons Safiya trousers (cut as shorts, pattern is in the Make it Simple book)
Tip 3: (and this is the best tip) accessorize to give life to a new outfit.
- Chances are, you have a closet full of clothes and still feel like you have nothing to wear! For some of your own spring outfit ideas, try mixing and matching your existing clothes in ways that you would never have thought of. The featured outfits are exactly what happened when I tried the same!
- Featured outfits: (1) white top purchased from Le Chateau and me made Alba skirt (from Sew Over It’s Summer Dreaming ebook). (2) white cigarette cut pants purchased from Express, Nubian Skin bodysuit and blouse from Chicos (worn open). I’ve never worn these items together in an outfit and I paired the pieces with accessories to give them a fresh look.
